Elmer M. "Rebel" Nichols,77, of Oak Hill died Saturday, August 21, 2004 at Hidden Valley Health Care Center, Oak Hill after a long illness. Born October 9, 1926 at Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Bill and Mary Flowers Nichols. He was retired iron worker and member of the United Iron Workers Local No. 601, former member of the Oak Hill Moose Lodge and an Army veteran. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Sneddon Nichols of Oak Hill, Tim and Robin Nichols of North Carolina, Mike and Janice Nichols of South Carolina, Pam Nichols of Illinois, Margaret and Jack Bickford of Oak Hill and Kathy and Eddie Burns of Lexington, KY, 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 7:00 pm Tuesday, August 24, 2004, at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Diarmuid O'Hara officiating. Cremation will follow. Entombment of the cremains will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill at a later date. Friends may call from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 24, 2004, at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill.
