Ella Avis Montgomery Walker

Ella Avis Montgomery Walker , 94, of Mount Hope, WV died on Monday, May 28, 2012 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV of heart disease. Born October 01, 1917 at Long Branch, WV she was the daughter of the late Robert G. and Pearl Frances Vernon Montgomery. Mrs. Walker was the oldest living member of the First Assembly of God in Mount Hope. She was the recipient of many Bible certificates from the Assembly of God headquarters in Springfield, Missouri and was an Adult class Sunday school teacher for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Ray Walker, son, Herbert Arnell Walker, daughter, Phyllis Ray Addair, brothers, Abner M. Montgomery, Russell Garfield Montgomery and Virgil Lee Montgomery, sisters, Clara Whitt, Margaret Boehly, Letty Settle and Maxine Rhodes and a grandson, Ernie Lee Addair. Survivors include son, Omer "Buddy" Walker and wife, Kitty of Fayetteville, daughters, Patricia Ann Harris and husband, Paul of Covington, VA, Janice J. Crum of Jackson, Michigan and Sharon Lee Humphrey of Maple Fork, and a brother, Rev. Grant Montgomery and wife, Delores of Hamilton, OH. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, and a host great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the First Assembly of God in Mount Hope with Rev. Jessie Parker officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Visitation will be held at First Assembly of God, Mount Hope on Thursday, May 31, 2012 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
