Elizabeth Carol Dorton Straub

June 30, 1949 — May 7, 2012

Elizabeth Carol Dorton Straub was 62 years young when she was greeted at Heaven's gates by her precious mother and sister on Monday, May 07, 2012 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Born June 30, 1949 at Oak Hill, WV she was the daughter of the late Douglas F. and Mary E. Campbell Dorton. Carol was preceded in death by her grandparents, mother and father, several aunts and uncles and her sister, Lisa Pittman. Carol was the most kind-hearted, giving, loving person. But the sun rose and set in her grandbabies. She loved every minute she had with them. If she would want to say anything to her loved ones it is live life to the fullest, laugh every chance you get and love like she loved her children and family til the Lord takes you home. She would not want you to want her back here. She is now at peace and setting by the river of life with Jesus, mother and Lisa. She will wait for you all at the Heavenly gates to greet you when you come. Carol loved you all in a special way. Carol went to Collins High School in Oak Hill. She spent most of her life here in West Virginia but lived in Minnesota for 18 years. Carol was a homemaker and loved to clean - organizing was her specialty. She ran a day care because she loved children but as she got older her passion was her family. Carol took pride in her children, spent most of her time with her precious daughter Erica who was always there for her mom. Carol had a special aunt, Aunt Dorothy, with whom she had late night conversations every night. She also had two special friends, Kathy and Shelby. Those left to cherish her memory are her precious daughter,Erica Farley of Mount Hope and her children, Madelyn, Olivia, Malaquai and Kaesen with whom Carol spent most of her time, and a son Robert Sheaves, Jr. and his companion, Melissa of Suprise, AZ. Carol had a companion of 30 years, Philip Waters. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and all her special friends with whom she played Bingo. Carol was the "Bingo Queen." Funeral services will be on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Sam Jeffries officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Monday, May 14, 2012 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
