Elizabeth A. "Betty" Sibray Howard

Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Sibray Howard , 86, of Mount Hope, WV died on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at her home. Born November 27, 1925 at Pittsburgh, PA she was the daughter of the late Donald L. and Dorothy Irene Schaub Sibray. She graduated from Rivesville High School in Fairmont where she was salutatorian of her class and a graduate of West Virginia University. Mrs. Howard was a Fayette County school teacher having retired from Mount Hope Middle School. Mrs. Howard was a member of the Mount Hope Presbyterian Church where she loved to sing in the choir. She was a member of the Mount Hope Federated League, Fayette Study Club, Delta Gamma Sorority at WVU and was an avid Bridge player. The Howard family would like to thank Misty Hall, Sarah Acord, and Wanda Ball for their wonderful care. Three brothers, Bill Sibray, John Sibray, and Richard Sibray and a sister, Caroline Probst preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, of 64 years, Thomas W. "Tom" Howard, daughter, Linda Howard Brown and husband, Steve of Mount Hope, two sons, Dr. Thomas W. Howard, II and wife, Jan of Hurricane, and Charles Howard and wife, Lorna Waddell of Morgantown, six grandchildren, Dr. Thomas W. Howard, III, Dr. Alex Howard, Grant Howard, William Brett Brown, Will Howard, and Charley Howard, two brothers, James Sibray of Beckley and Tom Sibray of Valparaiso, IN, and two sisters, DeeDee Zotcavage of Millersville, MD and Phronsie Blankenship of Virginia. Funeral services will be on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at 2:30 P.M. at the Mount Hope Presbyterian Church with Pastor Beth Stone officiating. Entombment will be at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Oak Hill. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the church. Grandsons and family members will serve as pallbearers. Donations of sympathy made be made to the Mount Hope Presbyterian Church, 412 Main Street, Mount Hope WV 25880 or the Greater Mount Hope Community Fund, Inc., 211 Bluestone Road, Mount Hope WV 25880.
