Elbert Walter Young

Elbert Walter Young age 72 of Glen Daniel, WV passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. Born March 30, 1939 in Beckley, WV he was the son of the late Frank Young, Sr. and Annie Mae Johnson Young. Mr. Young was a retired miner operator in the coal mines and was a member of the UMWA. Mr.Young served his country with the US Air Force. He was preceded in death by a son Jeffrey W. Young, Sr., two daughters, Cynthia Rose Young and Lori Ann Ames, 5 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by his children, Velvet Webb and her husband Shannon of Mt. Hope, Keith Young and his wife Tammy of Beckley, Daniel Young of Mt. Hope, Mike Young and his wife Michelle of Knightdale, NC, Debbie Briganti and her husband Phil of Newville, PA., James Ames, Cassandra Brink and Angela Young of FL. Also surviving are one brother, Glen Young of CA and one sister, Janet Harmon of Waynesboro, VA. His 39 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren also survive him. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at the Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope, WV with Rev. T.J. Salango officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.
