Edward (Toad) M. Buis

Edward (Toad) M. Buis, 77, of Fayetteville passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.

Born February 18, 1947 in Middlesboro, KY he was the son of the late Jessie and Billie Jean Smith Buis.

Toad worked on the strip mines in many capacities 57 years, and in his leisure he enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding his four wheeler, and working in his garden. He especially loved spending time with his family whom he loved deeply.

Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by brother, Bobby Buis.

Those left to cherish his wonderful memory include his loving wife of 45 years, Bertha Daniel Buis; 7 children, Mark, David, Michael, Mickey, Marvin, Dave, and Nesia (That Girl); 15 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Marvin Buis and Joe Buis.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill with Pastor Benny Bleigh speaking words of comfort to the family. In keeping with his wishes following the visitation Mr. Buis will be cremated.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations of sympathy be made to the Bowers Hospice House 454 Cranberry Drive Beckley WV, 25801.

The family would also like to give a special thanks to family, friends, his work family, Doctors, and everyone else who has called, texted, prayed, and just had a kind word for the family during this time. They would also like to thank Pastors Larry Lain, Tom Carver, and Benny Bleigh.
