Edward Franklin Scarbro, 82, of Mount Hope, WV, died on Sunday, July 12, 2020, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.
Born March 23, 1938 in Burnwell, WV, he was the son of the late Grady Henry and Ardena Francis Jarrett Scarbro.
He was a coal miner and a survivor of the Hominy Falls Mining Disaster of 1968. Mr. Scarbro was also drywaller and owned his own company, Scarbro Drywall, in Lansing, MI.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Lawrence and Alan Scarbro.
Those left to cherish his memory include loving wife, Jackie L. Hancock Scarbro; sons, Edward Scarbro (Carol) of Beckley and Jerry Scarbro (Devonna) of Beckley; daughters, Lynn Kious (Frank) of Hilltop, Tracie Parker of Cirtsville and Leslie Billups (Mark) of Maple Fork; step-daughter; Nancy Cordle (Kevin) of Oak Hill; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Also surviving are brothers, Clarence Scarbro (Shirley) of Lansing, MI; Leon Scarbro of Pax, and Wilson Scarbro, of Pax; sisters, Joyce Scarbro, of Lansing, MI, Faye Scarbro of Portland, MI, Susan Mooney of Charlotte, NC and Stevi Scarbro of Charlotte, NC.
Honorary pallbearers with be Keith Scarbro, Aaron Scarbro, Edward Scarbro II, Jared Scarbro, Kent Scarbro, Josh Scarbro, and Justin Aicher.
Graveside rites and committal services will be on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at 2:00 pm at Workman Cemetery with Pastor Kevin Gullion officiating. Those planning to attend should use proper COVID 19 precautions by wearing masks and maintaining social distancing of 6 feet.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley WV 25801.
