Edith Vealey

Edith Louise Miller Vealey, 88, of Mount Hope, WV died on Monday, December 10, 2007 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. Born September 19, 1919 at Burnwell, WV she was the daughter of the late Oren and Annie Calvert Miller. She was a retired cook for Burgerland and Mount Hope High School. Mrs. Vealey was of the Protestant faith. She loved having a garden and planting her flower beds. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Vealey on March 15, 1965 and a granddaughter, Amy Vealey Survivors include two sons, Harold Vealey and wife, Phyllis of Beaver, WV and Terry Vealey and wife, Tammy of Sand Branch, WV and two daughters, Patricia Lucas and husband, J.A. of St. Albans, WV and Mary Holland of Mount Hope, WV. Also surviving 9 grandchildren and numerous step grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services will be on Friday, December 14, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope with Rev. Darrell McNeely officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley WV. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope on Friday from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley WV 25801.
