Edith Case George

Edith E. Case George, 84, of Greystone in Beaver, WV formerly of Oak Hill, WV died on Sunday, June 24, 2007 at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born November 18, 1922 at Plainfield, NJ she was the daughter of the late Frank and Lillian Gempler Case. Edith was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Oak Hill where she served in many positions including Elder. For many years Mrs. George and her husband were the owners of The General Food Store in Oak Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie George, Jr. on March 28, 1993 and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include one son, Danny W. George of Renick WV; one daughter, Sally G. Martin of Flat Top, WV; one sister, Mabel Weston of Warren, NJ; two grandchildren, Melissa Dunn and Erin G. Martin and one great grandson, Lucas "Luke" Dunn. Services will be on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at 1:00 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Oak Hill with Rev. James Musgrave officiating. Entombment will be at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Oak Hill. Visitation will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 250 Central Avenue, Oak Hill WV 25901.
