Earl F. Dodson, Sr.

Earl Franklin Dodson Sr., 66, of Mossy, WV died on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born May 20, 1939 at Kingston, WV he was the son of the late Ezra Franklin Dodson originally from Sparta, TN and Ethel Lucille Myers Dodson orginially from Marmet, WV. He was a retired coal miner for the Smoot Coal Company. Mr. Dodson was a member of the UMWA and a lifetime member of the NRA. Two sisters, Emma Grace Dodson Gillham and Carol Yvonne Dodson preceded him in death. Survivors include three sons, Steven Dodson and wife, Veva, Earl Dodson, Jr. and wife, Rita, and Joey Dodson all of Mossy, WV; two step-daughters, Trina Hunter of Georgia and Elizabeth Humphrey and husband, Noble, of Cunard, WV; a niece, Lisa Gillham Rice and husband, Rick, of Princeton, KY; seventeen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Friday, March 31, 2006, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Services will be on Saturday, April 1, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, WV officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV.
