E. Phyllis Watkins

Esther Phyllis O'Dell Watkins, 86, of Oak Hill, WV died on Friday, March 19, 2004 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV following a long illness. Born September 28, 1917 at Oak Hill, WV she was the daughter of the late John Fredrick "Fred" and Alice Lewis O'Dell. Mrs. Watkins was a member of the Jones Avenue First Church of God, Oak Hill, WV and a homemaker. For the past 23 years, she had been a resident of the Kate Boone Retirement Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Kaufel Watkins; son, Larry "Beaver" Watkins; brother, James Russell O'Dell; sisters, Gladys Whitmer, Ruth Ann O'Dell and Ila Skaggs. Survivors include Daughter: Jane C. (Homer) Workman of Cleveland, OH Sons: Ralph F. Watkins of South Carolina Dale D. Watkins Brother: John F. (Maxine) O'Dell, Jr. of St. Albans Sisters: Orpha Jane O'Dell of Princeton Mildred Fisher of Columbus, OH 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren Mrs. Watkins was cremated. No service is planned at this time. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staffs of Kate Boone Retirement Home and Plateau Medical Center for all their care of Phyllis.
