Douglas Wayne Matheny , 68, of Mount Hope, WV died on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at his home. Born April 19, 1942 at Westerly, WV he was the son of the late Garvis Chester and Gwennia Warwick Matheny Spradlin and stepson of the late William Hubert Spradlin. He was a carpenter and US Army veteran. He was preceded in death by brothers, Gary "Joe", Roger Jeffery and Preston Lee Matheny Survivors include wife, Glenda Kay Bracken Matheny; daughter, Tammy Hopkins of Oak Hill; two stepsons, Ralph Shoemaker or Dunnellon, FL and Randy Shoemaker of Tampa, FL; brother, Phillip Matheny of Mims, FL and six sisters, Donna Underwood of Mount Hope, Rebecca Sumpter of Scarbro, Janice Sumpter of Mossy, Barbara Chambers of Hopewell, VA, June Johnson of Scarbro and Debra Blackburn of Scarbro.
