Dorothy Abshire Berry

Dorothy Hutchison Abshire Berry, 77, of Mount Hope, WV died on Monday, August 31, 2009 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV. Born January 10, 1932 at Salem, WV she was the daughter of the late Albert and Etta Elizabeth Rollins Hutchison. Dorothy was a member of the Peace In The Valley Church in Pax. She was a Medical Tech and Certified Homemaker. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Jacob R. "J.R." Abshire on October 19, 1969; 2nd husband, Grover Berry on March 29, 2002; one sister and four brothers. Survivors include one son, James R. Abshire of Aurora, CO; two daughters, Monica Dicken of Beckley, WV and Tammy L. Gartner and husband, Nick of Park Rapids, Minn. and eight grandchildren. Services will be on Friday, September 4, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with Rev. Jackie Minor officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.
