Dorothy "Dot" B. Jeter

Dorothy "Dot" B. Kirby Jeter,88,of Barboursville,WV formerly of Mount Hope, WV passed away Monday, June 10, 2013, at The Wyngate Senior Living Community in Barboursville, WV. She was born July 3, 1924 in Keystone, W. Va.,a daughter of the late Virginia and R. Gale Kirby. She resided most of her life in Mount Hope before moving to Barboursville in 2007. Dot was a graduate of Mount Hope High School and University of Charleston where she earned a degree in elementary education. She taught many years in the Fayette County school system and was a long time member of the Mount Hope Baptist Temple. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Robert R. Jeter of Mount Hope; daughter-in-law, Nancy; sister, Virginia Edwards; brothers, Roland and Frank Kirby. She is survived by her five children, Robert "Rusty" (Mary) Jeter of Proctorville, OH, Barry (Kriss) Jeter of Finleyville, PA, Jane (Mark) Bailey of Huntington, WV, Julie (Frank) Jeter of Mount Hope, Jon (Amy) Jeter of Finley, OH; eight grandchildren, Robert Michael (Amy) Jeter of Las Vegas, NV, Marla (Tyler) Haslam of Huntington, WV, Matthew Bailey of Huntington, WV, Sarajane (Brett) Agypt of Sterling, VA, Kati (Will) Holland of Huntington, WV, Tristan Jeter of Mount Hope; Anna Grace (Jay) Copley of Huntington, IN and Andrew (Kara) Jeter of Toledo, OH; two great grandsons, Jonathan Jeter and Miles Agypt; sister, Jane (Robert) Myers of Midland, TX; sisters-in-law, Nellie Kirby of Huntington, WV, Anna Marie Bottoms of Norfolk, VA; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P. M. Friday, June 14, 2013 at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope with Rev. Dana Gatewood officiating. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 A. M. until the time of the service on Friday.
