Doris Fitzwater Franklin

Doris Zay Fitzwater Franklin , 94, of Bradley, WV died on Monday, September 28, 2015 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV

Born March 31, 1921 at Raleigh, WV she was the daughter of the late John R. and Glenna Oaks Fitzwater.

Doris was a member of the Price Hill Freewill Baptist Church where she served as church organist and was involved in various other church activities. She was a homemaker.

Her first husband, Allen Ganoe; second husband, Clyde Franklin; son, Edward David Ganoe; brother, Roger Fitzwater and sister, Elmira Grose preceded her in death.

Doris is survived by a loving family which includes her two daughters, Clarice Wilson of Bradley and Monna Starcher and husband, Bruce of Summersville; and a brother, John Lewis Fitzwater of LaFayette, TN.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Gregory Starcher and Brian Starcher and wife, Connie all of Millville, NJ, Paula Lewis and husband, Lee of Peterstown and David Ray Ganoe and wife, Rhoda of Ballard; step-grandchildren, Candy Whitt of Dublin, VA and Jimmy Wilson, Jr. of Bay St. Louis, MS; five great grandchildren, Morgan Starcher and Kyle Starcher both of Millville, NJ, Randy Miller and Shawn Miller both of Peterstown, and Tristan Dunn of Ballard.

Funeral services will be on Friday, October 2, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with Rev. David Brooks officiating. Graveside rites and committal will then be held at 1:30 P.M. at the Fairveiw Cemetery, Peterstown where burial will follow.

Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope on Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

Bruce Starcher, Brian Starcher, Greg Starcher, Kyle Starcher, Curtis Whitt and Andrew Whitt will serve as pallbearers.
