Donald E. Tate, 57, of Jane Lew, WV departed this life Monday, September 4, 2006, at his residence. He was born in Coalwood, WV on November 28, 1948, a son of the late Branson Tate and Pearl (Matney) Tate. Survivors include his wife, Linda (Light) Tate, whom he married on Dec. 31, 1987; two daughters, Deborah Tate of Mount Hope, WV and Rebecca Tate Burns of Fairmont, WV; three sisters, Sandy Powell of New Port Ritchie, FL, Joann Smoot of Barnsville, Ga. and Janice Hudson of Barnsville, GA; two brothers, Branson Tate Jr. of Hollybrook, VA, and James Tate of Abingdon, VA; two grandchildren, Toni Marie and William Harrison and several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Dennis Blankenship, Glen Blankenship and Leo Tate. Mr. Tate was a Baptist. He worked with Bell Atlantic for 25 years and since 1993, he owned and operated Tate Communications. Mr. Tate was a member of The Rocky Mountain Horse Association and owner of the Mountain Gait Farm in Jane Lew, WV. He was a big supporter of the 4-H Club especially in Lewis County. There is no visitation and a private funeral service will be held at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main Street, Clarksburg, WV with Pastor Charles Madaus presiding. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of Mr. Tate to the Lewis County 4-H Club, P.O.
