Donald Preston "Don" Renfro, 79, of Maple Fork, WV died Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV. Born August 16, 1934 at Oak Hill, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Blaine Preston and Mae Matheny Renfro. He was the retired owner of Hunting and Fishing Warehouse at Maple Fork, and formerly worked as a welder at Long-Airdox Co. in Oak Hill and Perry-Hylton at Mabscott. Don was a member of the Kilsyth Free Will Baptist Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Pat Stone Renfro; three daughters, Donna Lee Adkins of Beckley, Debra McDaniel and husband, Dave of Kearnersville, NC, and Denise Renfro of Maple Fork; his grandson, Donald Shuck, who served as his caregiver; two sisters, Lyda Kessler and husband, Tom of Maple Fork and Eileen Ewing of Beckley; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. The family would like to thank his doctor, Dr. Olu Sangodeyi, and the staff of Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital and the Bowers Hospice House for their care during Don's illness. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A. M. Monday, December 23, at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with Rev. Bill Bennett and Rev. Jim Sturgill officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM Sunday evening at the funeral home.
