Donald Franklin Adkins , 77, of Thayer, WV died on Friday, February 19, 2016 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.
Born March 30, 1938 at Thayer, WV he was the son of the late Oswald and Delphia Berry Adkins.
His wife, Nadean Alice Todd Adkins preceded him in death.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Dwayne Adkins of Scarbro and Jamie Adkins and wife, Patty of Thayer; daughters, Deborah Richardson of Princeton, Kathy Murray of Mount Hope and Angela Adkins of Mt. Alto; brother, Jimmy Adkins and wife, Paula of Meadow Bridge; sisters, Ella Bowles of Meadow Bridge, Wilda Dela Garza of California and Linda Smith and Arlee Tincher of Oak Hill; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 12:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Wayne Peters officiating. Burial will be at Harrah Cemetery, Backus Mountain. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Dwayne Adkins, Jamie Adkins, Tyler Murray, Adam Richardson, J.J. Adkins and Brandon Adkins will serve as pallbearers.
