Dixie Lee Pennington

Dixie Lee Lafferty Pennington, 79, of Beckley, WV passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 29, 2004. Born January 16, 1925 at Pax, WV she was the daughter of the late Lillian Lafferty Woolwine. Mrs. Pennington was a member of the Clear Creek Presbyterian Church and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Pennington; grandparents, Frank and Rosie Lafferty; sister, Mable Feazelle; brothers, Denny Ray, Troy, Dillian and Winton Lafferty and Junior Woolwine. Survivors include sons, Randy Pennington of Germantown, MD and Tom (Caren) Pennington of New York City, NY; daughters, Rose (Stanley) Kristovich of Beckley, Joan Pennington of Chicago, IL and Nancy (Mauro) DiLorenzo of Beckley; brothers, Eugene Lafferty of Beckley and James (Drema) Lafferty of Pax; sister, Margie Tyree of Cranberry and by 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope on Friday, July 2, 2004, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Services will be on Saturday, July 3, 2004, at 1:00 pm at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope with Rev. Harmon Davis officiating. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley WV. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
