Dennis Ray Sutphin

Dennis Ray Sutphin, 66 of New Port Richey, FL died Wednesday, February 24, 2010 from complications following surgery. Born December 13, 1944 in Summerlee, WV he was the son of Bessie Cantley Sutphin of Oak Hill, WV and the late William A. Sutphin. Mr. Sutphin was a graduate of Collins High School in Oak Hill, Beckley College and Marshall University in Huntington. He was employed for a number of years in the Accounting Division of the West Virginia Department of Highway at their headquarters in Charleston before accepting a position in the Business Department of Eastern Kentucky Mack. After relocating to Florida, Dennis served for 12 years as comptroller for Innisbruck Resort and Country Club, Tarpon Springs, FL and prior to his retirement, as manager of Ocean Sands Resort, Madeira Beach, and FL. A brother, the Rev. Dr. William Ashby Sutphin, Jr. of Kernersville, NC preceded him in death. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Linda; two children, D.R. “Butch” Sutphin, Jr. and his wife, Sue and Sheryl Every and her husband, Mark all of New Port Richey; a sister, Susan Johnson and her husband, Randy of Lewisburg and six grandchildren.
