Deloris Jean Mcvey Slaughter

Deloris Jean (Timbo) McVey Slaughter died on Friday, September 10, 2010 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV.   She was born July 11, 1935 at Terry, WV to the late Carlos Edward and Elsie Wiley McVey.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by infant daughter Luann Slaughter and son Bobby L. Slaughter Jr. and brothers Bill McVey and Joey McVey.   Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 55 years Bobbie L. Slaughter Sr., son, Larry and wife Cheryl Slaughter of Oak Hill, daughters, Kim and husband Jess (Sam) Davis of Oak Hill and Panella (Dee Dee) Slaughter McComes and husband Roger of Hilltop, special daughter, Linda Woodson Kneece of Beckley, grandchildren, Winter Slaughter, Alyson Davis, Becca Davis, and Kyle Slaughter, great grand children, Madison Wills and Carleigh Wills, and Conner Chipi, brothers, Curtis McVey and wife Barbara of Daleville AL, and Charles McVey and wife of Washington, sisters, Jerry and (Jim) Copley of Oak Hill, Tabby Wroten of Oak Hill, Mary (Duckie) Carte of Charleston SC, Brenda McVey of SC, and Donna and (Wylie) Cullop of Shady Spring and brother-in-law Ed and wife Betty Slaughter of Newberry SC. God's Garden   God looked around his garden, and He found an Empty place, He put His arms around you' and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best. He knew you were suffering, He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw that the road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb, So He closed your weary eyelids and whispered "Peace Be Thine." It broke my heart to lose you, but you didn't go alone. For part of us went with you the day God called you home.   As per her request there will be no visitation.  In lieu of flowers please make memorials to Larry and Greta Bolen (The Happy Travelers)at  PO Box 183 Ballard, WV 24918. They are assisting the family. Burial at High Lawn Memorial Park 11:00 AM Monday, September 13, 2010.
