Delbert Waddell

Delbert Ray "Woody" Waddell,65, of Oak Hill,WV went to be with the Lord, Friday, October 15, 2004 in CAMC Memorial Divison, Charleston after a short illness. He was born March 11, 1939 at Jumping Branch, WV, a son of the late Terry and Evelyn "Lucille" Wills Waddell. He was a disabled meat cutter with Acme Grocery Store, Beckley. Woody was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Hill where he served on various boards. He also worked with the food pantry. He was president of the Fayette County Baptist Mens Association. He was US Army veteran for two years as a staff sergeant. He served eight years with the #811 Ordnance Co., Rainelle. Survivors include sis wife, Phyllis Rhodes Waddell, two special friends, Reggie and Maggie, three brothers, Darrell Waddell of Gloucester, Mass., Donald Waddell and wife, Carol of Rayham, Mass., Denzil Keith Waddell and wife, Theresa of Forth Worth, Texas, three sisters, Dreama White and husband, Ralph, Diana Bragg and husband, Bob, Delma Vannatter and husband, Charlie, all of Oak Hill, also survived by several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at Calvary Baptist Church, Oak Hill with Rev. Alvie Edwards and Rev. Delmas Wolfe officiating. Burial will be in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill with military graveside rites by VFW Post #3110, Oak Hill and the #811 Ordnance Company, Rainelle. Friends may call Monday evening from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Monday, October 18, 2004, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Terry, Michael, David White, Robby Bragg, Billy Tucker and honorary pallbears will be David Parrish and members of Fayette Baptist Association.
