Delbert Ray Sutphin Sr., 74, of Hilltop, WV died on Wednesday, October 06, 2004 at Berger Hospital in Circleville, OH. Born July 09, 1930 at Sanger, WV he was the son of the late William McKinnley and Vernie Lou Lafferty Sutphin. Mr. Sutphin was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church, Lochgelly, WV and a member of the United Auto Workers. He was a retired mill wright for Ford Motor Company and owner and manager of Hilltop Cemetery. Delbert was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane Argabright Sutphin; brothers, Okley, Reginald H., William A. and Bobby K. Sutphin; sisters, Edna Davis and Mildred Sutphin. Survivors include daughter, Kathie Stacey and husband, Charles, of Taylor, MI; son, Delbert R. Sutphin, Jr. of Dearborn, MI; brother, Billy Sutphin and wife, Beverly, of Hilltop; sisters-in-law, Janet Sutphin of Scarbro, Edith Sutphin and Bessie Sutphin both of Oak Hill; grandsons, James Stacey of Lincoln Park , MI and Mathew Sutphin and wife, Lisa of Lincoln Park, MI; granddaughters, Carrie Reyer and husband, Jerry of Southfield, MI and Katrina Moran and husband, Jim, of Stow, OH; great grandchildren, Chelsea Sublett of Lincoln Park, MI, Shane Sutphin of Lincoln Park, MI; Jerry and Tyler Reyer of Southfield, MI; and Samantha Rae Moran of Stow, OH and by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Saturday, October 9, 2004 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Services will be on Sunday, October 10, 2004 at 2:00 pm at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Winston O'Neal and Rev. Darrell Fuller officiating. Burial will be at Hilltop Cemetery, Hilltop WV.
