David G. Tincher of Summersville, WV, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, July 30th surrounded by his loving family.
Dave was a person people instantly liked. He was a storyteller who usually left the listener laughing out loud. He was a lifelong collector, restorer, and admirer of antique cars. After graduating from Collins High School in 1960, he served his country for 20 years in the United States Air Force, which took him all over the world. He also retired from the U.S. Post Office where he worked in Tampa, Florida. After losing his wife of 44 years, Della, he moved back to his home state of West Virginia in 2018 where he married his high school sweetheart, Linda.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Hilda Tincher and his wife, Linda.
Dave will be deeply missed by his daughters, Gina Tincher and Desiree Balconi, his sister Brenda Roach (Charlie), his granddaughters, Maiya Lee (Peter) and Marja Balconi, great grandson Theodore Lee, niece Sherri Selvey (Chris), nephews Jeff Stover (Sarah) and Sebert Stover, great niece Samantha Treadway (Josh), great nephews Noah Oliver (Lindsay) and Eli Selvey, cousins Tom Tincher, Cindy Legg (Bill), and Sheila Weese (Terry), stepchildren Allen Akers (Luisa), Karen Peters (Darryl), and Jon Akers (Brigitte), and many other loving family members.
The family will host a celebration of Dave’s life on Sunday, September 29th. Details to follow.
