David Allen Thompson

David Allen Thompson , 48, of Oak Hill, WV died on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 following injuries received in an automobile accident on Rt. 19. Born April 11, 1960 at Oak Hill, WV he was the son of Robert "Bob" and Martha Yarber Thompson of Oak Hill. He was a restaurant cook having received a certificate in Culinary Arts. Mr. Thompson was a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Lochgelly. He attended Oak Hill High School and was active in the Willow Bay program. He was a US Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Thompson, Jr. on March 12, 1956, paternal grandmother, Hattie Thompson in March of 1996, by maternal grandparents, Lettie and Violet Yarber in 1982 and 1984 and by a aunt Ruth Thompson Rilat. Additional survivors include: sister, Lisa Thompson of Fayetteville, brother, Doug Thompson and wife Jennifer of Fayetteville; niece, Bethany Hunt and husband Brian and their children, Carrissa, Braylee and Tony of Oak Hill; nephew, Adam Smith of Rainelle, Justin Weis of Morgantown, Tyler Weis of Fayetteville, Caleb Thompson of Fayetteville, Doug Thompson Beckley and Desirae Thompson of Beckley. Also surviving are uncles and aunts, Larry Yarber and wife Robin of Eden, NC, Pete and Bev Yarber and Betty Kidd, all of Oak Hill, Peggy and Jim Wolfe of Sanger, Jeannie and Danny Evans of Summerlee, Lloyd and Ann Toney of Beckley, Shirley and Jack Blake of Garden City, MI, Jackie and Judy Yarber of Warren, MI, Bill Thompson of Fayetteville, Frank and Linda Thompson of Elyria, Ohio, Danny and Judy Thompson of Wadsworth, Ohio, Dorothy and Ray Griepke of Largo, Florida and Francis and Chuck Brozik of Rockford, IL. Services will be on Monday, October 20, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Pastor Ron Persinger officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home. Oak Hill on Sunday, October 19, 2008 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Tyler Weis, Ed Bolon, Brian Hunt, Larry Yarber, Doug Thompson and Adam Smith.
