David D. Jordon

David Donald Jordon, 61, of Oak Hill, WV died on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. Born March 20, 1948 at Charleston, WV he was the son of the late Edwin Donald and Violet Viola Thompson Jordon. He was a disabled chief engineer for WOAY TV. David attended the Full Gospel Church at Scarbro and assisted with TV broadcast of the "Spirit of Victory" telecasts. His brother, William Edward Jordon, two sisters, Helen Petry and Lucille Jordon and one great nephew preceded him in death. Survivors include his former wife who was his best friend and caregiver, Linda Williams and her husband, Leroy "Weasel" of Clear Creek; dear friend Dorothy Osborne and her husband the late Elmer Osborne whom David considered as second parents; nephews and nieces, Kerry and Linda Petry of Coto de Caza, CA, Donna and Alan Burress of Winona, Kevin and Tracy Petry of Reading, PA and Eric and Erin Petry of Poca; seven great nieces and nephews and nine great great nieces and nephews. Services will be on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Dorothy Osborne officiating. Entombment will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Prosperity. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
