David J. "Jack" Fitzpatrick

David Jackson "Jack" Fitzpatrick , 90, of Land O'Lakes, FL formerly of Oak Hill and Beckley, WV died on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at his home.
Born April 16, 1924 at Carlisle, WV he was the son of the late Everette Andrew and Virginia Woods Fitzpatrick.
He was a 1940 graduate of Oak Hill High School, a graduate of WVU and a World War II US Army veteran.
Mr. Fitzpatrick was a retired counselor for the WV Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.
Jack was an honest, fiercely independent, loyal man with a strong work ethic and sense of fair play. He valued his wife and children above all and counted them his greatest assets.
He is survived by a devoted family which includes his wife,the love of his life whom he married on April 1, 1950, Marie Sullivan Fitzpatrick; one daughter, Dana McMahon and husband, Terry of Land O'Lakes, FL; one son, David Fitzpatrick and wife, Karen of Morgantown; two sisters, Patty Epps and husband, Wally of Prince George, VA and Judith Blackwell of Mechanicsville, VA; six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
Graveside rites and committal service will be on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Prosperity with Rev. Adeeb Khalil officiating. Entombment will follow. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to WV Special Olympics, 1206 Virginia Street East, Charleston, WV 25301 (online at www.sowv.org ) or to the charity of your choice.
