David H. Austin

David Harold Austin, 75, of Rt 4 Fayetteville, WV died on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at his home. Born at Rush, KY he was the son of the late Samuel and Lorraine Burdette Austin. Mr. Austin was a disabled US Navy veteran. He was known among CB'ers by his handle "Davy Crockett." His son, David H. Austin, Jr.; five brothers, Sam Austin, Jr., James Virgil Austin, Frank Austin, Billy Ray Austin and George Edward Austin and three sisters, Myrle Bates, Mozelle DaLonzo and Peggy Stewart preceded him in death. Survivors include one daughter, Ella Helmick of Oak Hill, WV; one sister, Frances Tufts of Fayetteville, WV; his compaion of ten years, Sarah Strickland of Rt 4 Fayetteville, WV; a step-daughter, Emma McKinney of Prosperity, WV; a special friend, Kenneth Bailey of Ansted, WV; one grandchild, one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. Graveside rites and committal services will be on Tuesday, September 6, 2005, at 11:00 A.M. at Huse Memorial Park in Fayetteville with Rev. Jackie Pittman officiating. Burial will be at Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville WV.
