Dave Wayne Fisher, 66, of Lochgelly, WV passed away Thursday, March 7, 2019, at the VA Medical Center, a proud member of the 82nd (101st) Airborne Division. He was born on Easter of 1952, April 13th (without a DMV-approved birth certificate), the first and most stubborn of eight children of the late Georgia Rhodes and Dave Fisher. He had a big temper, but he had an even bigger heart - loving gambling and giving money away to any in need in equal measure.
He was a salesman, a boy scout, and an artist by nature. His choice of craft was woodwork. He loved life, and he loved to play. He raised four children at least as stubborn as he was, Brandy, Dave “Bud”, Michelle, and Tabitha. He also built half of their home, through which he taught his children invaluable life skills. He made sure to do the same for KayLeigh, and Davey, the grandchildren that he raised as his own. He also loved his other grandchildren, Lawrence, Dagger “pen-knife”, and Lynora fiercely. Together, they were his world.
He has been reunited with his beloved grandfather, mother and father, his brother, Robert, his son “Bud,” and his niece, with dear friends Randy and Larkin, along with too many others.
Those left to celebrate his life and carry on his legacy of laughter include his brothers Jeff and Mike, as well as his sisters, Donna Bailey, Cheryl Bogle, Linda Gibson, and Deanna Shepherd, in addition to his wife, Holly Ann Fisher, and his daughters, grandchildren, and grand-fur-children.
The celebration of his life will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 10th, with the service beginning at 2:00 P.M. Friends are encouraged to share written stories of Dave for the grandchildren’s enjoyment now as well as later. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
