Damon "Mutt" Jones

Damon "Mutt" Jennings Jones, 65, of Scarbro, WV died on Monday, August 11, 2003 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV following a long illness. Born February 5, 1938 at Long Branch, WV he was the son of Ida Jones Bowyer of Oak Hill, WV. He was a retired mechanic. Mr. Jones was vice president and had been a dedicated worker with the Oak Hill Little League for 15 years. He was a Baptist by faith and a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his a brother, William Bowyer. Survivors include his wife, Peggy DeLung Jones Daughters: Debra Andrews Cook of Oak Hill Kimberly Surface of Princeton Brother: Zachery Hancock of Oak Hill Sisters: Shirley Scarbro of Beckley Jackie Scarbro of Mount Hope Gaye DeLung of Florence, SC Sarah Nelson of Orlando, FL Sandra Smith of Oak Hill Grandchildren: Amanda Jones of Scarbro Jonathon Andrews of Oak Hill Terrence Surface of Princeton Stephanie Surface of Princeton and by 1 great grandchild: Sierra Jones of Scarbro Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 13, 2003 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm. Services will be on Thursday, August 14, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Bill Menefee officiating. Mike Kees will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley, WV.
