Curtis "Stub" Dotson

June 29, 1940 — October 5, 2014

Curtis Wayne ( affectionately known by family and friends as Stub) Dotson , 74, of Oak Hill, WV died on Sunday, October 05, 2014 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.

Born June 29, 1940 at Cunard, WV he was the son of the late James Nelson and Ada Bennett Dotson.

Mr. Dotson was a 14 year veteran of the Chicago PD. He retired from the Fayette County Assessor's Office.

He was a former officer for the Moose Lodge and a former member of the Arbuckle PSD.

A US Army veteran, he had served with the 82nd Airborne.

Stub is survived by a loving family which includes two daughters, Jane Kimberly Given and husband, Johnny Lee of Oak Hill and Niki Kelly and husband, Robert of Oak Hill; two brothers, Larry Dotson of Oak Hill and Louie Dotson of Rossville, GA; a sister, Phyllis Bibb of Richwood and his companion, Nancy Smith.

Also surviving are three grandchildren, Joshua Given, Noah Jackson and Caitlin Jackson; very special nieces, Dee Dotson, Tammy Dotson Lilly and Debbie Griffey and several other nieces and nephews.

Stub was cremated. A memorial service will be on Saturday October 11, 2014 at 12:00 P.M. at the Minden Community Center with Pastor Mark Wood officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the Minden Community Center.
