Cora Osburn Withers

October 9, 1936 — March 6, 2016

Our precious mother and grandmother, Cora Alice Osburn Withers, 79, of Fayetteville, WV - having believed the words of Philippians 1:21 “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain” -  died on Sunday, March 06, 2016 at her home.

Born October 09, 1936 at Logan, WV she was the daughter of the late Wayne and Zell Toppins Osburn.

She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse having last worked for Fayette Continuous Care.

Cora was a member of the Fayetteville Baptist Church and Son Shine Mission Circle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Bill L. Withers and siblings, Zara Osburn, Hilie Curry and Frank Osburn and wife, Bea.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving family which includes one son, David Withers and wife, Barbara of Huntington; daughters, Rebecca Rector and husband, Timothy of Beckley, Bethanie Wood and husband, Robert of Saginaw, Mich. and Amanda Wood and husband, Gregory of Cool Ridge; and sisters, Minnie Stapleton of Lexington, KY, Thelma McGlothlin and husband, Ed of Dumfries, VA, Mary Belle Williams of Ona, Rosalie Lambert and husband, Ed of Ona and Bonnie Hardin and husband, Ed of Kansas City, MO.

Grandchildren, David Withers, II and wife, Nikki of Proctorville, OH, Jamie Withers and wife, Amanda of Billings, MT, Adrienne Berry and husband, Timothy of Beckley, Megan Knight and husband, Bryan of Vienna, Matthew Withers and wife, Brittani of Bridgman, MI, Johnathan Wood of Saginaw, MI, Nathan Wood and wife, Samantha of Daniels, Cori Wood of Saginaw, MI, Whitney Williams of Flat Top and Alaina Wood of Cool Ridge; 16 great grandchildren; and her four loving and faithful caregivers Peggy Dawson, Cindy Hewitt, Jinny Redden and Billy Myers.

Funeral services will be on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Fayetteville Baptist Church with Pastor Ron George and Pastor Harry Fuller officiating. Burial will be at Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Friends may call from 12:00 Noon until service time on Friday at the church.

Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers with honorary pallbearers being Cora's dear Christian sisters of the Fayetteville Baptist Church Son Shine Circle.

In lieu of flowers contributions are encouraged to enhance the WV Baptist Camp at Cowen through the Withers Family Memorial Fund, PO Box 1019, Parkersburg, WV 26102.
