Colaine Nichols

August 28, 1927 — March 28, 2003

Colaine June McLain Nichols, 75, of Mount Hope, and most recently of Brunswick, OH, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 28, 2003 at Willowood Care Center in Brunswick, OH. Colaine was born August 28, 1927 in Mount Hope. She was beloved friend, anchor and bride of 51 years to Jadie Nichols. She was the inspirational and loving mother of Dreama K. Brant and husband, Larry, and David A. Nichols and wife, Patty; doting and devoted grandmother of Bethany H. Fisher, Richard M. Fisher, Staci E. Fisher, Dusty Lynn Nichols and Kelly L. Nichols. She was preceded in death by and is now rejoined in Heaven with parents, Harry and Mary Bailey McLain; sisters, Hazel Oschlager and Leona Bailey; twin, Loraine Hager; and brothers, Fred and Garland McLain. She was rewarded in life with the love and admiration of many sisters, brothers, in-laws and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She is loved and remembered by family and friends at Packs Branch Baptist Church, Packs Branch, Mount Hope Baptist Temple, Mount Hope, Harmony Baptist Church, Brooklyn, OH and the former Pearl Road Baptist Church, Brunswick, OH. As a young woman, Colaine sang with sister, Loraine McLain Hager, friend, Glyda Ann McClung Norman and accompanist, Russie Kincaid as part of the Mac Trio in local churches and on WOAY radio. Always gracious and giving, Colaine was known and admired for her hospitality and selflessness. She blessed many shut-in neighbors, as well as family and friends, with her caring spirit and her wonderful southern cooking. She was a wonderful example of the definition of a virtuous woman in Proverbs 31:10-31. Colaine enjoyed the Saturday Supper Club at Kelly’s Korner in Pax, and had been a dues-paying member of Well-I’ll-Be at Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was always in attendance at Bridge Day, Mount Hope Jubilee and the Pax reunion. She was loved, and will be missed by all who knew her, and the chance of seeing her again is just one more reason to be sure that heaven is our eternal home. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope, WV with the Rev. Cecil Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, WV. Friends may call from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Monday, March 31, 2003 at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Mount Hope Baptist Temple, PO Box 466, Mount Hope, WV 25880
