Cody O. Elmore, Jr., 69, of Lake Park, GA passed from this life on April 10, 2004 at his Lake Park residence. Born on May 30, 1934 in Fayette County, West Virginia he was the son of the late Cody 0., Sr. and Kathleen Hundley Elmore. Mr. Elmore proudly served his country for 21 years in the United States Navy. He retired in 1974 having attained the rank of Chief Aviation Ordinanceman. After his military career, Mr. Elmore was a long haul truck driver. Completing his work in that field he retired from Roadway Express Inc. after 21 years of service and attained the coveted award for two million personal miles driven without an accident. Mr. Elmore leaves to mourn his passing, one son Richard Elmore of Lake Park, GA; one stepson, Donald W. Branscome of Harrogate. TN; one daughter, Elaina Burnett of Lake Park, GA; a brother, Carlton N. Elmore of A1toona, Iowa; two sisters, Jeanette Drennen of Oak Hill, Kay Marie Chapman of HeathsvilJe, VA; granddaughters. Karla Brigh.t of Hillard, FL, Lindsey Gonzalez of Va1dosta, GA; one grand.son, Jerry Loper of Valdosta, OA; great grandchildren, Kailey Nolan, Justin Loper, Cody Bright, Tristan Gonzalez; two aunts, Edna Nichols. Genevicve Elmore of Scarbro, WV; nephews, Gary Elmore, Richard Mascilak; nieces. Pamela Strong, Deborah Taylor and many cousins. He is also survived by his former-wife and. life long friend, Anne Elmore of Lake Park, GA and sister-in-law and special friend, Janet Hunter of Burlington, NC. Graveside rites will be held on Friday, April 16, 2004 at 11 :00 a.m. at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity, WV with graveside military rites by VWP Ost #31001, Oak Hill and with Robert Creed officiating.
