Clark W. Burdette, 66, of Kilsyth, WV died Thursday, June 14, 2012 at his home following a sudden illness. Born December 12, 1945 at Nallen, WV, he was the son of the late Commodore and Violet Lafferty Burdette. Mr. Burdette was a member of the Kilsyth Free Will Baptist Church and also attended other area churches. He had been employed as a factory worker, construction worker, a butcher, and was skilled in several different trades. He was a 1964 graduate of Mt. Hope High School and attended Raleigh County Vo-Tech for two years. Clark was also a former member of the West Virginia National Guard. Mr. Burdette was a resident of Kilsyth for 54 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Toni Y. Burdette, daughter Alicia Burdette and half Brother Bernard Lesher. Survivors include two daughters: Angela Criss and husband Joey: and Amanda Walker and husband Kevin, all of Mt. Hope. Three grandchildren: Josh Criss of Mt. Hope, Sydney Criss of Morgantown and Matthew Walker of Welch. Two brothers: Jerry Burdette of Union, Missouri and Cody Burdette of Logan, WV. One sister, Lucille Haynes of Laplata, Maryland; along with several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Services will be Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kilsyth Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Jessie Parker and Rev. Bill Bennett officiating. Entombment will follow at Highlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill. Friends may call from 6 til 8 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2012 at the church and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the church.
