Clarence Eugene “Buster” Billings, 93, went home to be with the Lord and his family on February 24, 2013. Born in Kilsyth, West Virginia on October 22, 1919, he was the fourth of sixteen children born to Charley and Ada Billings. Clarence graduated from Pax High School, served almost 5 years as Master Sergeant in the Army Air Force during World War II. Clarence was a member of Anchor and Ark Masonic Lodge No. 1027 in Waukegan, IL for 62 years. He worked as an electrical contractor, retiring in 1982. He is survived by his devoted and beloved wife of over 65 years, Anita; a daughter Glenda Johnson, Fort Worth, TX, a son Alan (Amy) of Raleigh, NC; 2 grandsons, Christopher Johnson, Denver , CO, Andrew Billings, Raleigh, NC; 2 granddaughters, Kathryn Johnson Guardado (Ervey) of Fort Worth, TX, Emily Rose Billings, Raleigh, NC; two sisters, Juanita Hatcher and Dorothy McCoy, Oak Hill, West Virginia; three brothers, Harold (Barbara) Billings, Delaware, OH, Keith Billings, Round Lake, IL and Bobby (Rosetta) Billings of Custer Park, IL; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by 6 sisters and 4 brothers. Funeral services will be at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, West Virginia at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday February 28, 2013 with visitation one hour before the service. Services conducted by Pastor Sam Vance of Packs Branch Baptist Church with burial following at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley, West Virginia with military graveside rites by Oak Hill VFW Post #3110.
