C.L. "Jack" Burk

Clarence L. "Jack" Burk, 80 of Oak Hill died Saturday, July 26,2003 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill of an apparent heart attack. He was born June 15, 1923 in San Jose, CA son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Burk. He traveled the world in the Merchant Marines during World War II. Jack worked with Cardox in CA. and moved with the company to Chicago, IL. where they later became Long Airdox. Jack moved to Oak Hill, WV and worked at that office until his retirement in 1988. At that time Jack became a volunteer at the Chamber of Commerce and the Visitors Center. He enjoyed greeting and meeting visitors every Saturday for many years. Survivors include Jane, his wife of 40 years. Brother-in-law Paul Nicholls of Whitesville, WV and Brother-in-law-Fred Nicholls and his wife Dorothy of Cincinnati, OH, Brother-in-law Sam Nicholls and his wife Gina of Jacksonville FL. Godson-William H. Jayne IV of Dove Canyon, CA. There will be no service or visitation as per his request.
