Cheryl Coleman Strawn, 70, of Bethalto, IL formerly of Oak Hill, WV passed away January 5, 2018 at home following a long illness.
She was born in West Virginia on January 13, 1947, daughter of the late Emmet James and Helen Lorene Wilson Coleman.
A granddaughter Amber Strawn of Delhi, IL preceded her in death.
Cheryl grew up in Oak Hill where she attended the Jones Avenue First Church of God, was a graduate of Collins High School and went on to attend Anderson University, Anderson, IN. She was a social worker and faithfully served The Lord with her husband Bill as he pastored for over 40 years, 17 at Meadowbrook Church of God in Bethalto. They were married June 9, 1967 in Oak Hill.
Her memory will be forever cherished by a loving famiy which includes her husband Bill (Charles) Strawn, 3 sons; Charles Strawn (Carrie) of Seattle, Tim Strawn (Diane) of Cahokia, IL and Scott Strawn (Cambra) of Oklahoma City; a daughter Sara Anderson (Julius) of Dalhart, TX and 8 loved grandchildren Alex, Jordan, Janae, Zinash, Will, Jalen, Mihret, and Sam; along with a host of other family and friends.
A celebration of a life well lived was held on her birthday January 13, 2018 at Lifebrook Church in Bethalto, IL with visitation from 12:30-2:00 followed by service officiated by Pastor Steven VanFossen. Cheryl was cremated.
Graveside rites and committal will be at 10:30 am Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill, WV.
