Charles C. Underwood

Charles C. Underwood, 78, of Oak Hill, WV died on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born November 12, 1927 in Walker County, AL he was the son of the late Charlie and Ellette Boshell Underwood and step-son of the late Ethel Radford Underwood. He was a retired salesman for Long Airdox, Oak Hill, WV. Mr. Underwood was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Oak Hill where he was past Church Trustee and active in the Layman's Association. Charles was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean Conflict and of the WV National Guard. Survivors include wife, Carol Stone Underwood; two sons, Mark Underwood and wife, Angie of Proctorville, OH and Cevin Underwood and wife, Nancy of Prattville, Ala.; one daughter, Patrice Underwood of Oak Hill, WV; one sister, Eunice Janney of Conway, SC; four grandchildren, Cameron Underwood and Casey Underwood both of Proctorville, OH, Chad Underwood and wife, Stefanie of Prattville, Ala. and Windy Bonser and husband, Keith of Fayetteville, NC. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Saturday, September 16, 2006, from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM. Services will be on Saturday, September 16, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Alvie Edwards officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV with military graveside rites by VFW Post #3110, Oak Hill.
