Charles D. Trowbridge, 85, of Beards Fork, a good and faithful servant has won the fight, finished his course and gone home to receive his crown, on Sat. April 16, 2005 at his home. Born April 14, 1920, at Kimberly, he was the son of the late Homer and Mary Johnson Trowbridge. He was a retired coal miner with over 40 years of service with Carbon Fuel. He was a member of the Church of Christ, the UMWA and a US Army veteran of World War II and the CCC. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cecelia Kathleen Jarrell Trowbridge; sons, Lawrence Edward, Dennis and Butch Trowbridge; one daughter, Linda Trowbridge; sisters, Irene Moffat and Agnes Miller; brothers, Edward and Leon Trowbridge. Mr. Trowbridge was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survivors include his daughters, Brenda Johnson and husband, Ronnie of Josephine and Cindy Tucker and husband, Jeff of Besoco; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, April 18, 2005 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Jack McNeely officiating. Burial will follow at Montgomery Memorial Park, London, WV.
