Charles E. Terry, Sr.

Charles Edward Terry , Sr. 80, of Sun, WV died on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at CAMC - Memorial Division in Charleston, WV. Born January 25, 1932 at Fayetteville, WV he was the son of the late Walker M. and Mary M. Morris Terry. He was a retired Postal Clerk & Carrier for the U. S. Post Office. Mr. Terry was a member of the Sun Full Gospel Church. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict having attained the rank of Sgt. He received a Korean Service Medal and ROK Presidential Unit Citation. He was preceded in death by brothers, Woodrow Terry, Frank Terry and Andy Terry and sisters, Louise Dunkley, Lorna Bish, Charlotte Sinclair and Ethel Dunkley. Survivors include his wife, Joan Evelyn Lewis Terry, two sons, Steven D. Terry of Albuquerque, NM and Charles E. Terry, Jr. of Princeton, a daughter, Charlotte L. Troyer of Burr Oak, MI,and a sister, Margerite Warick of Erie, PA. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill. with Rev. Jessie Parker officiating. Burial will be at Huse Memorial Park in Fayetteville with military graveside rites by Oak Hill VFW Post #3110. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill on Friday, February, 3, 2012 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
