Charles F. Mahood

Charles Francis Mahood, 83, of Oak Hill, WV died on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV. Born August 22, 1925 at Sun, WV he was the son of the late Frederick R. and Oma G. Vandall Mahood. He was a retired painter foreman for the Town of Greenwich, Conn. Mr. Mahood was a member of the Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Oak Hill and the Knights of Columbus. He was retired Chief Steward of Teamsters Union Local #456. He served in the US Marine Corps during World War II. Four brothers, Chester, Bob, Fred and David and a sister, Margaret preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mary M. Donnelly Mahood; one son, Charles Mahood and wife, Jean of Greenwich, Conn., on brother Jimmy Mahood and wife, Betty of Oak Hill; two grandchildren, Taya Mahood and Alyse Mahood both of Greenwich; god daughter, Lynda Wigglesworth of Bridgeport, Conn. and by numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, September 26, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Oak Hill with Father Paul Yuenger officiating. Entombment will be at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Oak Hill with military graveside rites by VFW Post #3110, Oak Hill. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home on Thursday, September 25, 2008 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM with a Prayer Service beginning at 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 123 Elmore Street, Oak Hill WV 25901.
