Charles L. Kuhn

Charles Lee Kuhn, 77, of Cool Ridge, WV died on Friday, June 01, 2007 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. Born July 25, 1929 at Cunard, Fayette County, WV he was the son of the late Ulysses S. "Jack" and Margaret E. "Bessie" Kincaid Kuhn. He was a retired coal miner having 36 years service with Smith & Stover Coal Co. of Jonben. Mr. Kuhn attended the Cool Ridge Community Church and was a member of the District 29 UMWA. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph Kuhn, Monroe Kuhn, Craver Kuhn and James Kuhn and two sisters, Nona Hunter and Loretta Ombler. Survivors include wife, W. Phyllis Bennett Kuhn; sons, Charles L. Kuhn, Jr. and wife, Rosalie of Fairdale, WV and Danny Ray Kuhn and wife, Jennifer of Cool Ridge, WV; sister, Birdie McKinney of Wayne, WV; brother, Sisroe Kuhn of Leavittesburg, OH; five grandchildren, Ashley Calloway and husband, Jeremy of Cool Ridge, WV, Chelsey Kuhn of Cool Ridge, WV, Diana Bennett and husband, Edwin of Shady Spring, WV, and Lisa Kuhn of Fairdale, WV and Christi Kuhn of Fairdale, WV and by three great grandchildren, Iris Calloway and Trinity and Charity Bennett Services will be on Sunday, June 3, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Paul Holstein officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Sunday, June 3, 2007 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, PO Box 1472, Beckley WV 25802.
