Charles B. Keffer

Charles "Billy" Basil Keffer, 85, of Oak Hill, WV died on Saturday, February 25, 2006 at his home following a short illness. Born January 30, 1921 at Long Branch, WV he was the son of the late William Harvey and Gertrude Humphrey Keffer. Mr. Keffer was a retired coal miner. He was of the Baptist faith and a World War II US Army veteran. A daughter, Billie Jo Hammontree, one sister, Margaret Moroe and a step-grandson preceded him in death. Survivors include his loving wife of 23 years, Pauline Keffer; three daughters, Gladys Pack of Scarbro, WV, Eulaine Reid of Kimberling, MO and Linda Lewis of Willis, MI; one step-son, Franklin (Barbara) Brown of Meridian, TX; two step-daughters, Connie Bragg of Oak Hill, WV and Josephine (Jerry) Cooper of The Villages, FL; one sister, Retta May Pettry; three brothers, Jerry Keffer, Lary Keffer and Gary Keffer all of Oak Hill, WV; seventeen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Wednesday, March 1, 2006, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Services will be on Thursday, March 2, 2006, at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill in Oak Hill with Rev. Paul Basham officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV with military graveside rites by VFW Post #3110, Oak Hill, WV. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
