Charles William Jackson, 87, of Oak Hill, WV died on Friday, January 30, 2004 at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born October 27, 1916 at Lindside, WV son of the late William and Mary Smith Jackson. He was a retired coal miner. Mr. Jackson was a member of the Shirley Donnelly Bible Class of the Oak Hill Baptist Church and member of the Presbyterian Church in Weirsdale, Fla., Oak Hill Lodge No. 120 A.F. & A.M.; Sewell Chapter No. 24 R.A.M.; Mount Hope Commandery No. 22 K.T.; Beni Kedem Templs. A.A.O.N.M.S.; Fayette County Shrine Club and the U.M.W.A. He had been manager of Little League and Senior League teams in Oak Hill. He served in the US Army during World War II having attained the rank of T4. Survivors include wife, Louise Lohman Jackson son, George William Jackson and his wife, Rosanne A. of Atlanta, GA sister, Juanita Stout of Battle Creek, MI grandchildren, Frank Eli Jackson of Atlanta, GA; Tara Rosanne Ivy and husband, David of Atlanta, GA and Christina Marie Jackson of Atlanta, GA great grandchildren, Kaylee Rosanne and Sean Ivy of Atlanta, GA Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Sunday, February 1, 2004, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Services will be on Monday, February 2, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill in with Rev. David White officiating. Entombment will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity with Masonic rites by Oak Hill Lodge No. 120 A.F. & A.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 1900 Richmond Road, Lexington, KY 40502-1298.
