Charles Golden Hunt, 84, of Oak Hill, WV died on Tuesday, February 03, 2009 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Born January 10, 1925 in Jackson County, WV he was the son of the late Howard and Anise Casto Hunt. He was a retired coal-mining foreman. Mr. Hunt was a member of the Maple Fork Baptist Church. He was also a member of the United Mine Workers of American and Hico Lodge. He served in the US Navy during World War II having attained the rank of Machinist's Mate 3rd Class. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Hawkins Hunt and his son, Charles Rick Hunt, Sr. Survivors include three grandsons, William Hunt and wife, Tammi of Morgantown, Charles "Chuck" Hunt and companion, Nicole of Oak Hill and Charles Rickey Hunt, Jr. and wife, Brooke of Oak Hill; one sister, Kathleen Hunt of Ripley; daughter in-law, Carolyn Hunt of Oak Hill and four great grandchildren. Services will be on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Robert Barley officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV with military graveside rites conducted by Oak Hill VFW Post #3110. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home on Friday from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM His three grandsons, William, Rickey and Chuck Hunt, John "Jap" Janney, and Donald and Michael Whitt will serve as pallbearers.
