Charles R. "Bobby" Lavender

Our loving husband and father Charles R. "Bobby" Lavender , 81, of Oak Hill, WV died on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at Select Specialty Hospital in Charleston, WV following an extended illness. Born December 08, 1927 at Cannelton, WV he was the son of the late Charles and Pearl Forman Lavender. He was a retired electrician for Cannelton Coal Company with 35 years service. A devoted Christian, Mr. Lavender was a member of the Fellowship Memorial Baptist Church in Oak Hill. His brother, James Lavender and a sister, Betty Smith preceded him in death. Survivors include his loving wife, Phyllis Williams Lavender; three sons, Michael Lavender, Don Allen Lavender and wife, Lisa and John Lavender and wife, Susie; and a sister, Margie Fannin. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Michael, Jeremy, Hazel, April, Logan, Sean, Jarrett, Preston and Katie. Services will be on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Pastor William Parker officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Friends may call two hours prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
