Celia Ramona Abshire

Celia Ramona Tyree Abshire, 95, of Beckley, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 in a Beckley hospital. 

Born April 4, 1928, at Cirtsville, WV, she was the daughter of the late William Ray and Lillian Ester (Maynor) Tyree. 

Celia was a 20 year employee of the Beckley Postal Service. She loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, they were her life. In her leisure she enjoyed her flowers. 

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Ezelle E.L. Abshire; granddaughter, Kelli Abshire-Miller; three brothers, and two sisters. 

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Pam Hall (Larry) of Ripley; four sons, Stan Abshire (Carla) of Charleston, Gerald "Buck" Abshire (Rhonda) of Beckley, Stephen Abshire of Beckley, and David Abshire (Mary) of Mount Hope; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren; and one brother, Harry "Pete" Tyree of Beckley. 

Services will be 2:00 P.M., Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Mount Hope with Pastor Larry Brown officiating. 

Friends may call from 1:00 P.M. until time of service Sunday at the funeral home in Mount Hope. 

Entombment will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, January 29, 2024 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Beckley. For those wishing to attend, please meet at the cemetery. 

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
