Cecil Alvin Robertson, 87, of Wriston, WV died on Monday, December 31, 2007 at his home. Born August 12, 1920 at Wriston, WV he was the son of the late Cecil and Ellen Walker Robertson. He was a retired coal miner and landlord. Mr. Robertson was of the Baptist faith and a member of the UMWA. He was a World War II US Army veteran and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with 6 Bronze Stars and Bronze Arrowhead. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Violet Lorena Light Robertson and by several brothers and sisters. Survivors include wife, Mable Harvey Robertson; one son, Randy Ray Robertson and wife, Linda of Wriston; stepchildren, Jess Harvey and wife, Monnea of Scarbro, Billy Jo Wriston and husband, David of Oak Hill, Matt Harvey and Cynthia Harvey of Oak Hill; one brother, Clarence Robertson of Dempsey and one sister, Pauline Plance of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Cindy Aliff; grandson, Kevin Robertson and a great grandson, Ayden Aliff; four step grandsons and three step great grandchildren. Services will be on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Joe Brown and Rev. Melvin Nottingham officiating. Entombment will be in the family mausoleum at the Robertson Cemetery, Wriston WV. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Wednesday, January 2, 2008, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
