Cecil Brewer, 74, of Oak Hill, WV died at home, Monday, November 3, 2003 after a long illness. He was born May 11, 1929 at Jackson, Kentucky, a son of the late Willie and Nora Hensley Brewer. He was a retired miner with Allied Chemical, Harewood, WV with forty one and a half years of service. Member of the Jones Avenue Church of God, Oak Hill and the UMWA. A sister, Myrtle Brewer Jones preceded him in death. SURVIVORS, his wife of 55 years, Lois Ruth Lay Brewer; one son, Glen Michael Brewer and wife, Debbie of Fayetteville, WV and one daughter, Rebecca Brewer Hurd and husband, Mark of Fayetteville, WV; grandchildren, Matthew Brewer of Greensboro, NC; Scott Brewer, John Brewer, Sarah Hurd and James Michael Hurd, all of Fayetteville, WV; one great grandchild, Keelan Brewer of Greensboro, NC; eight brothers, Rev. Arnold Brewer and wife, Nora Rae of Camden, Ohio, George Brewer and wife, Patty of Waterford, PA, Hagor Brewer and wife, Judy of Clay City, KY, Rev. J. W. Brewer and wife, Jean of North East, PA, Jerry Brewer and wife,Judy of Bonneyman, KY, Lawrence Brewer of Summerville, Ohio, Lloyd Brewer and wife, Faye of Combs, KY, Willie "Junior" Brewer and wife, Kay of Combs, KY, three sisters, Sue Goins and husband, Curtis of Waterford, Ohio, Sandra Brewer of Fayetteville, WV and Peggy Drennen and husband, Terry of Fayetteville, WV. SERVICE will be 1:30 PM Thursday, November 6, 2003, at the Jones Avenue Church of God, Oak Hill with Rev. Ralph Shupe, Rev. Tonya Shupe, and Pastor Jerry Bush officiating. Friends may call at the church from 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM Thursday at the church. Entombment will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill,WV.
